Municipalities and the public sector

Every public process leaves a verifiable trail.

Municipalities, counties, Crown corporations and public agencies: citizen requests, grants, approvals and records brought together in a monday.com system built for public-sector rigour, in Canada and the United States. Compliance and audit trails built in from day one.

Discuss your operations

Bright municipal building lobby with a service counter

The same challenges, from one organization to the next.

A citizen request gets lost in an inbox. A grant is tracked in three spreadsheets. An approval sits on a desk waiting for a signature. That's the sprawl we structure.

Citizen requests

Roads, planning, services: they arrive by phone, email and web form, then scatter across departments. No one can say where each request stands.

Grants and accountability reporting

Funds are tracked in parallel spreadsheets that drift apart, and reports to funders are rebuilt by hand at every deadline.

Multi-level approvals

An expense waits for one signature, then two. Without an audit trail, there is no way to show who approved what, and when.

Records and retention

Resolutions, contracts and permits end up spread across filing cabinets and shared drives, hard to produce during an audit or an access-to-information request.

What we implement in monday.com.

A custom operations system where compliance is built into the workflow, not reconstructed after the fact. A straightforward implementation, or a complete system with built-in AI agents.

Centralized citizen requests

One front door: every request is logged, categorized, assigned and followed through to resolution, with a complete history.

Public bids

From posting (Quebec's SEAO or any North American procurement portal) to award: bidders, evaluation grids and documented decisions at every step.

Grants, from application to report

Data is entered once and feeds fund-usage tracking and reports to funders automatically.

Approvals with audit trails

Multi-level workflows where every approval is logged: who, what, when. Auditors get their answers without digging.

Decision files

Resolutions, contracts and supporting documents attached to the right file, ready for councils, committees and audits.

AI agents that prepare the work

Agents configured in monday.com triage incoming requests, gather the context and flag missing documents. They prepare; your teams keep the decisions.

And when purchasing, contracts or public accounting outgrow monday.com, we can also implement Odoo or connect the systems you already run. The platform serves your processes, never the other way around.

What you want to know before calling.

Your question isn't listed? You'll talk to the person who would do the work in your organization.

Discuss your operations

How do you handle compliance: Law 25, records retention and equivalent requirements elsewhere?

Compliance is part of the design: retention schedules, personal-information traceability, access logs. In Quebec we document Law 25 compliance; elsewhere in Canada and the United States we apply the equivalent requirements that bind your organization. Everything is documented for your internal and external audits.

Do you work in both French and English, including with federal bodies?

Yes. Configuration, documentation and training in both official languages, and your teams can work in either one, or both. We know municipal, provincial and federal contexts in Canada, as well as public-sector requirements in the United States.

Where does the data live, and how is security handled?

That question is settled at the architecture stage, not after the fact. For public bodies, we favour Canadian hosting options where required and document where the data resides. Role-based access, access logs and audit trails complete the picture.
